Description & Uses

We carry several Lavender varieties, but this Provence Lavender stands out for its exceptionally smooth, soft, and slightly sweet aroma. Its richness and balance make it a favorite for both aromatherapy and natural perfumery.

Lavender is one of the most widely used essential oils in the world—and for good reason. It is remarkably gentle yet highly effective, supporting both physical comfort and emotional well-being.

Traditional & Modern Uses:
• Promotes relaxation and restful sleep
• Helps ease stress, tension, and emotional overwhelm
• Supports relief from headaches, PMS, cramps, and muscle discomfort
• Aids in easing sinus congestion and chest tightness
• Soothes burns, sunburn, insect bites, and irritated skin
• Freshens spaces and supports natural cleaning blends

Lavender is one of the few essential oils sometimes used neat (undiluted) for minor burns or bites—though care and discretion are always recommended.

A Brief History

Lavender has been used for centuries, with its name derived from the Latin lavare, meaning “to wash”—as the Romans famously added it to their bath water. It later gained prominence through the work of René-Maurice Gattefossé, who used lavender oil to treat a severe burn and observed its remarkable healing effects. His research helped popularize the term “aromatherapy.”
